What we teach, and when
A Cambridge-aligned primary curriculum taught in English, with Islamiyat and Nazra as core subjects, from Kindergarten to Grade 5.
Curriculum
Cambridge Primary, taught in English
We follow the Cambridge Primary framework for English, Mathematics and Science. It gives us a tested sequence of objectives for each year group and a clear standard to measure against, so a child leaving Grade 5 can move into a Cambridge or Matric middle school without a gap to close.
English is the medium of instruction from Kindergarten onward. Urdu is taught as a full subject in its own right — we do not treat literacy in Urdu as optional.
Islamiyat and Nazra are timetabled subjects for every year group, and the school day opens with Nazra at assembly.
Subjects
What a Westbridge pupil studies
Mathematics
Number sense through arithmetic, fractions, geometry and word problems, following the Cambridge Primary sequence.
Science
Observation and practical work from Grade 1, moving to structured experiments in the upper primary years.
Urdu
Reading and writing Urdu as a full subject, taught alongside English rather than in competition with it.
Islamiyat & Nazra
Timetabled every week for every year group, including daily Nazra at morning assembly.
Social Studies
Pakistan Studies, geography and civics, taught with maps, stories and local examples.
Computer Basics
Keyboard skills, safe use of a computer, and simple problem-solving from Grade 3.
Art, Craft & PE
Timetabled, not optional. Physical activity and making things are part of a primary education.

Assessment
How we track progress
Primary children do not need constant examinations. They need a teacher who notices early when something is not landing, and tells you about it while there is still time to help.
- Continuous classwork assessment, marked and returned quickly
- Individual reading assessed aloud, one child at a time
- A written report each term in plain language, not codes
- Parent meetings each term with the class teacher
- An early conversation if your child is falling behind
Homework. Short, purposeful and finishable at the kitchen table without a tutor. If homework regularly takes your Grade 3 child more than thirty minutes, we want to hear about it.
